Medical Team

Every DELA getaway has a travelling medical team to accompany the group.

Nephrologist: Kidney specialists sourced from around Australia supervise all dialysis clients while travelling.

Dialysis Nurses: Volunteer nurses fulfill certain criteria. Nurses are required to have a minimum of 5 years dialysis nursing experience; must be experienced using a Fresenius 4008b dialysis machine and use it unassisted; must have current Australian nursing registration. Most importantly nurses must have a commitment to patient care.

Technician: The technician is a very important team member and is responsible for setting up the dialysis unit for the getaway. DELA travels with 4 four machines and 1 spare. The technician is responsible for water purification required to run our dialysis unit and maintenance of machines during the getaway.

Group leader: The group leader is from Dialysis Escape Line and is there to coordinate everything while on a getaway.

Thankyou for showing me that there is a life on dialysis and you can travel. My wife had a great learning experience talking to other partners and how they coped with partners on dialysis
